Fishing in Canada (and feasting) Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This!

Manitoba Fishing - Delicious Shore lunch at North Knife Lake Lodge!Greetings from North Knife Lake Lodge!

Our 2009 fishing season is now just a cast away! It’s our latest start date ever due to ice conditions, but we’ll be well underway in a few days. Staff have arrived at the lodge and are busy getting ready for the season ahead. Part of that season includes Webber’s famous Shore Lunches.

There is nothing more spectacularly delicious than fresh-caught Northern Pike cooked over an open fire, fried potatoes, corn, beans, and Helen’s homemade bannock and cookies. With that in mind, yesterday we took some time out and did a shore-lunch "test run." *grin*

After a little over an hour of fishing in "Runway Creek" we came back with several Northern Pike and a few beautiful Lake Trout. Back at camp we got the fire going by the shore and moved our dining room down to the dock. We feasted like kings, while listening to Mike mumble, "Oh MAN, this is good!" between bites.

It was nice to take a few hours on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy our little slice of paradise before our season gets into high gear. So to all our past, present, and future clients of Webber’s Lodges,

Cheers to another great season ahead!
